Our food safety and security program starts in the field, where our employees follow established Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) protocols and undergo training on proper health and hygiene for working with fresh fruit. Every measure is taken to prevent possible contamination throughout the packing operation, including an identification badge policy for all employees and visitors, ensuring maximum food security.
Packinghouse – Fruit Wash and Waxer
Our storage facility has a comprehensive system of checks-and-balances to guarantee the proper cooling and storage of packed fruit, and a documented checklist to ensure fruit is never exposed to possible contaminants. We keep detailed reports on all cold storage rooms and equipment, documenting the temperatures as well as the operation of our ethylene removal filters. We have a proven traceback program, allowing each carton of packed fruit to be traced from the retail distributor to the packing house, grower, orchard and harvest date.
